Risk of future Nepal-India earthquake increases

There is an increased risk of a future major earthquake in an area that straddles the west of Nepal and India, scientists warn.

New data has revealed that the devastating quake that hit Nepal in April did not release all of the stress that had built up underground, and has pushed some of it westwards.
The research is published in the journals Nature Geoscience and Science.
Its authors say more monitoring is now needed in this area.

If we have an earthquake today, it would be a disaster because of the density of population.

Prof Jean-Philippe Avouac, from the University of Cambridge, told BBC News: "This is a place that needs attention, and if we had an earthquake today, it would be a disaster because of the density of population not just in western Nepal but also in northern India, in the Gangetic plain."

Much of the world was, in a sense, holding its collective breath in anticipation of this final judgment of God.

Although many expected a physical manifestation of God’s wrath, God in fact, brought to pass a devastating spiritual judgment beginning on May 21, 2011. We have now entered into the darkest time in Earths’ history, as we are living in the day of judgment, and heading for the final end of all things, the destruction of the universe, and the beginning of the new heavens and new earth, very likely to be on October 7th 2015.

U-16 football team leaves for Bangladesh

KATHMANDU - The national Under-16 football team has left for Bangladesh today to play in the Third SAFF Championship .

Lawmaker and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) chair Ganesh Thapa bid farewell to the team amid a function organized at the ANFA complex Satdobato, Lalitpur today and expressed best wishes for success.

The game is scheduled to begin from August 9. Different six countries are participating in the game and Nepal is in Group B. Maldives and Afghanistan are in Group B along with Nepal.
